There is an interesting shift in Habakkuk’s writing as chapter 2 unfolds. Instantly, he records what he hears from the Lord - a series of “5 Woes,” spoken by God over the worldly culture surrounding. These are judgement claims over Babylon (not Israel); five characteristics and beliefs that Israel are to notice in the world around them and be set apart from.
But as we learn in today’s sermon, these five “woes” can easily be bled into our everyday life…
